In IPL 2009 Bhuvneshwar Kumar was bought by RCB but he did not get a chance to play a single match and later he was signed by Pune warriors in 2011 and the team got dissolved in 2013 and he was bought by SRH in 2014 for 4.25 cr In IPL auction. In 2016 SRH won the title and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar won the purple cap by picking 23 wickets. He then became the vice captain of SRH in 2018. He is the first player to achieve this by winning consecutive purple caps
