We know how important an all-rounder’s role is in cricket. They are very valuable for team balance. India’s all-rounder the great Kapil Dev marked his name in the world. Now, two names that are sparkling in this era are Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube.

In 2016 Hardik Pandya made his debut for India in a T20I series against Australia. He is not a single child of his parents, he has a brother also Krunal Pandya. He was born in Gujarat, a middle-class family. Pandya quickly achieved the stage with his aggressive batting and effective seam bowling. Pandya’s performance was very good on debut, he got 2 big wickets of Steven Smith & Matthew Wade.
Skills:
Hardik with his hard-hitting ability in batting and good pace in bowling made him a very good all-rounder.
Standout Performance:
One of his standout performances was during the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 final match against Pakistan, he played a quick-fire knock of 76 off 43 balls where every batsman failed to score big runs in that match but only he stood out and hit big sixes, and showed his ability.
Another big performance of Hardik was against South Africa in T20 World Cup 2024. This time with the ball, he bowled a match-winning spell of 3/20 in the death overs.
Pandya’s all-rounder impact was evident throughout this World Cup. He scored 144 runs at a strike rate of over 150 and has taken 11 wickets.

Shivam Dube:
Early Career:
In October 2019 Dube made his debut for India in a T20 series against Bangladesh.
Shivam Dube was born in Mumbai, he played school cricket for Hansraj Moraji Public School but had to stop playing cricket at the age of 14 due to financial constraints.
Again he started playing cricket at the age of 19 and was selected for Mumbai U-23s. Dube made a name in domestic cricket with his powerful hitting and manageable medium-pace bowling.

Skills:
He is also a good hitter like Hardik. His spin-hitting ability is awesome. His bowling is not as good as Hardik but he can bowl at good length often batsmen couldn’t judge his delivery.
Selectors mostly picked him for his batting.
Standout Performance:
I talked about Dube’s batting skills. In December 2019 in a T20 match against West Indies Dube scored a quick 54 runs which included three fours and four sixes. His performance in domestic cricket is very impressive.

He hasn’t made his debut yet in test cricket, so you can see only ODIs and T20Is stats.

When comparing Hardik Pandya vs Shivam Dube, Pandya’s all-rounder impact is always pronounced due to his adaptability in pressurize situations. Dube’s batting is okayish but he needs to improve his bowling speed with accuracy.
Conclusion
In conclusion, both Hardik and Dube have unique skills. But Pandya’s experience, effective batting & bowling make him a crucial player for India. So in my opinion Hardik is far better than him, Dube is still finding his way. Hardik’s skills and match-winning abilities make him the better all-rounder (Hardik Pandya vs Shivam Dube) at this stage. But the all-rounders’ role is very crucial for the team, hope Dube will improve his bowling skills as well as batting.
