India Qualified For Super 8 in the T20 World Cup 2024 after beating USA by seven wickets on Wednesday, June 12, at the Nassau County Cricket Stadium in New York.
Despite India’s top order facing difficulties in chasing 111 runs against USA, Surya Kumar Yadav and Shivam Dube led the team to victory, with Arshdeep Singh’s fiery bowling.
The USA suffered a major setback at the beginning of the slog overs, as they got deducted a penalty of 5 runs. This deduction was a result of their delay in starting the over for the third time in the match, taking more than 60 seconds.

IND vs USA Match Overview:
After winning the toss, India chose to bowl on the tricky pitch. Arshdeep Singh breathed fire and removed Shayan Jahangir and Andries Gous in the first over of the match. In the first innings, Arshdeep picked 4 up wickets and gave up just 9 runs in 4 overs he picked up Shayan Jahangir, Andries Gous, Nitish Kumar, and Harmeet Singh, which is the best bowling figures by an Indian in the T20 World Cup history. For this fiery performance Arsheep was named as Man of the Match.
In the second innings, Saurabh Netravalkar picked up both openers, the most experienced players of the Indian team, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma cheaply, and just gave 18 runs in the given 4 overs.

How will Super 8s be decided?
In the Super 8 stage, there will be two groups, each with four teams.
The groups for the Super 8 stage are already decided. Teams are ranked based on their performance in the first round. The teams in the two Super 8 groups will be: A1, B2, C1, D2 and A2, B1, C2, D1.
For Example, Consider Group B, Australia is determined as B1 and England as B2, even if England ends up top of the group table. If Scotland B3 qualifies and England B2 is knocked out, Scotland is replaced as B2.
