1. Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Pune Warriors
The highest score in IPL history to date is 263 runs made by the Royal Challengers Bangalore against Pune Warriors on 23rd April 2013 at the M Chinnaswamy stadium. The star of the match was Chris Gayle who went beast mode and scored 175 runs all alone!
Without any surprise, RCB went on to win the game by 130 runs. This highest score record is yet to be broken.
2. Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Gujarat Lions
Number two on the list is yet again the team from Bangalore who scored 248 runs against Gujarat Lions on 14th May 2016 at RCB’s home ground. This time it wasn’t Chris Gayle but the iconic duo of Kohli and de Villiers who led the charge and scored a partnership of 200+ runs, with both bagging a century to their name.
RCB crushed their opponents by bowling them all out just for 104 runs and won the game easily.
3. Chennai Super Kings vs Rajasthan Royals
Yes, the team we’ve all been waiting for is finally here. CSK is third on this list with 246 runs against the Royals on 3rd April 2010 at the M.A. Chidambaram stadium. The MVP of the match was Murali Vijay who scored 127 runs and led the men in yellow to a massive total.
This was a close game, as Rajasthan Royals also crossed the 200 runs mark, but fell short by 22 runs and lost the game. But this game will always be remembered as one of the most exciting run chases ever in IPL.
4. Kolkata Knight Riders vs Kings XI Punjab
Number four on the list is KKR who put up 245 runs against Kings XI Punjab on 12th May 2018 in Indore, The Kolkatan charge was led by Sunil Narine, who scored a brilliant 75 runs and put his team in a comfortable position.
In the end, Punjab did manage to get close as they scored 214 runs but ran out of steam and lost the game.
5. Chennai Super Kings vs Kings XI Punjab
CSK once again makes it to the list, and so does Punjab. Chennai scored 240 runs against Preity Zinta’s squad on 19th April 2008, at the famous Mohali ground. Michael Hussey was the starman who made 116 runs in this game.
Punjab did come close by scoring 207 runs, but the 20th overcame very soon for them and they had to face defeat. This was in the first edition of the IPL, which set the benchmark very high.
6. Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Mumbai Indians
The teams from the south seem to be dominating this list as RCB is back again. This time, they scored 235 runs against the Mumbai Indians on 10th May 2015 at the Wankhede stadium. The player of the match was Mr. 360, AB de Villiers who scored 133 runs.
MI did put up a fight but managed to only get to 196 runs and lost by 39 runs.
7. Mumbai Indians vs Sunrisers Hyderabad
Last on this list is Mumbai Indians who also scored 235 runs against the Sunrisers Hyderabad on 8th October 2021, at Abu Dhabi. Ishan Kishan and Surya Kumar Yadav both scored 80+ runs and helped their side reach a massive total.
SRH tried their best but could only make 193 runs in this covid outbreak IPL season and lost the game by 42 runs.
